PETALING JAYA: Over 20,000 orders have poured in for Perodua’s first compact sedan called Bezza, – after only three weeks since its launch.
English daily The Sun reported Perodua President/CEO Aminar Rashid Salleh as saying they have so far received some 19,000 orders, with another 6,000 units in the process of delivery.
“We are very thankful to the Malaysian public for their support and for choosing us as their automotive brand of choice.
“We are now focusing our efforts on timely delivery of the Perodua Bezza to our valued customers,” he was quoted as saying.
The Bezza – Perodua’s first energy-efficient vehicle (EEV) sedan, was officially launched on July 21.
According to Perodua, 43 per cent of buyers opted for the mid-range 1.3L Premium X model, while 42 per cent bought the top-of-the range 1.3L advanced variant. Only about 15 per cent went for the 1.0L.
The car is priced at RM37,300 for its 1.0L standard G (manual transmission) and RM50,800 for its 1.3L advanced variant (automatic transmission).
The company invested some RM300 million to develop the Bezza, which boasts 95 per cent local content.
