KUALA LUMPUR: MyWatch Chairman R. Sanjeevan faced a charge on Tuesday, under Section 385 of the Penal Code, for allegedly blackmailing.
This is the third such charge against him.
He pleaded not guilty at the Magistrate’s Court for allegedly blackmailing one Mohamad Azhan Hamza by putting him in fear for his life.
Sanjeevan was said to have committed the offence on 22 May 2014 at Restoran Marakesh, Jalan Raja Uda, here.
Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahab granted Sanjeevan RM2,500 bail in one surety.
He fixed September 8 as the next mention date.
Sanjeevan was represented by Ravin Jay Kumar.

Sanjeevan also faced a charge last week, at the Temerloh Magistrate Court, for allegedly blackmailing a businessman for RM1,500.
Earlier, Sanjeevan claimed trial at the Sessions and Magistrate Courts in Seremban last month for allegedly hiring a foreigner without work permit and, in the second case, for allegedly blackmailing a man for RM25,000.
He was previously detained under the Prevention of Crime Act (Poca) for 21 days to facilitate police investigations.
The High Court allowed his habeas corpus application and freed him.
