KUALA LUMPUR: A car park attendant was sentenced to a month’s jail and fined RM1,000, in default two months’ jail, by the Magistrate’s Court here today for punching his wife who caught him with two women at home.
Magistrate Nur A’minahtul Mardiah Md Nor meted out the punishment to Muhamad Ihsan Mapoh @ Mahbob, 43, who pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was ordered to serve the jail sentence from the date of arrest, which was last Aug 15.
Muhamad Ihsan was charged with causing hurt to Sidasari Md Daud, 60, at PPR Sri Alam, Jalan Lapangan Terbang, Off Jalan Istana, Sungai Besi, at 9pm last Aug 14.
The charge, under Section 323 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 326A of the same law, provides imprisonment for up to two years, or with a fine for up to RM2,000, or with both, upon conviction.
According to the facts of the case, the victim returned home from work and saw two unknown women in the house.
Her husband punched her on the right arm when she questioned him about the women.
During mitigation, Muhamad Ihsan, who was unrepresented, said he was remorseful and promised not to repeat the mistake.
