PETALING JAYA: A project management contract for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed railway is being put out to tender on Monday.
The joint tender by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority and Malaysia’s MyHSR Corporation is to select a company to be a joint development partner.
In a statement yesterday, they said the company is expected to provide project management support, technical advice and procurement advice, develop technical and safety standards for the project, and assist in preparing documents for future tenders.
The tender is open to firms which have previously advised on large public-private partnership infrastructure projects. Firms with experience in providing project management, technical, commercial or legal advisory services relating to high-speed rail systems or rail projects with 200km of track may also apply.
The 350km KL-Singapore high-speed railway is expected to begin in 2026, with travel time between Singapore and KL of 90 minutes, compared with the current four to five-hour road journey.
