Kedah MB goes on leave for medical check up

GEORGE TOWN: Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has gone on medical leave in order to fully recover from an operation he had in June.

In a statement issued by his press secretary, Nahar Tajri, Bashah is currently recuperating outside Kedah.

“He is merely following the doctor’s orders to rest and refrain from meeting people for now so that his wound from the operation would not get infected and will be able to heal properly,” Nahar said, adding that the Bakar Bata assemblyman had undergone several follow-up operations since June.

A few months ago, Bashah underwent surgery on his intestines at the Penang General Hospital.

He was initially taken to the Kedah Medical Centre after complaining of dizziness and collapsing while at a meeting with state assemblymen the day before.

Kedah state secretary Bakar Din was previously quoted by Bernama as saying that Bashah was suffering from an intestinal complication and that it was not serious.
