‘Grenade’ found under bed at PD hotel

PETALING JAYA: Negeri Sembilan police have recovered an object that looks like a grenade from a hotel room in Port Dickson.

They are now looking for a Middle Eastern man who occupied the room.

Port Dickson District Police Chief Supt Adzli Abu Shah said hotel staff found the object under the bed while cleaning the man’s room in the hotel at Batu 5, Jalan Pantai.

NST Online said the man, in his 30s, had checked into the hotel with his family on Monday and checked out today.

“We have yet to confirm if it was really a grenade,” Adzli said.

Police were able to identify the man using the hotel’s closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage.

Police are not ruling out anything, including possible links with the Islamic State militant group.
