Robber who fled with RM2,000 turns out to be cop

shahrulPETALING JAYA: A 55-year-old policeman has been arrested on suspicion of armed robbery at a cyber café in Jalan Radin Anum, Sri Petaling, today.

NST Online said the policeman held the rank of lance corporal. He was attached to the Commercial Crime Department at the Shah Alam police headquarters.

Brickfields Police Chief ACP Sharul Othman Mansor said the man had held up the premises’ owner at gunpoint about 7am and robbed him of RM2,000.

The victim, aged 31, gave chase.

He stopped when the robber fired a shot which grazed him in the chest.

The report said police nabbed the suspect about 350 metres from the cyber café .

They recovered RM2,000 and a Sig Sauer firearm from him.
