Haron, 77, died at 10.10am yesterday at the Stanford University Hospital due to heart complications. He was buried at Five Pillars Muslim Cemetery on Laughlin Road in Livermore.

Abdul Hadi said Haron’s contributions and sacrifices in spreading the knowledge of Islam should serve as an example to Muslims. He added that Haron was always very passionate and his loss is deeply felt.

Muhyiddin said Haron was a much-respected religious figure. “Although he was a politician who served as PAS’ spiritual adviser, he had always given me advice whenever I met him. We hope Haron will be placed among the righteous,” Muhyiddin said.
