Ismail Sabri: Opposition bent on destroying Umno, BN

KENINGAU: The Opposition is trying “various stunts” in its attempt to destroy Umno and the Barisan Nasional (BN), said Umno supreme council member Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue was a case in point as despite investigations conducted by the authorities and Public Accounts Committee (PAC) which found no proof of abuse of power, the Opposition still refused to accept the truth.

“It was admitted by Rafizi (Ramli) (PKR vice-president) in a video clip that his duty was to instigate the people to hate Umno.

“Currently, together with other parties which become their proxies, they are instigating the people to hate Umno,” he told reporters after simultaneously opening the delegates’ meetings of the Pensiangan, Tenom and Keningau Umno divisions here today.

As such, Ismail Sabri said, Umno and BN members and their leadership must reply to all the Opposition’s accusations and propaganda to prevent Umno members and the public from being influenced by parties like PKR and DAP.

He also called for Umno members and leaders to continue giving their full support and trust to the Umno leadership and Prime Minister Najib Razak.

He said loyalty to the leadership was a tradition of Umno that must be defended because it formed the basis of the strength of the party to continue to stay in power and to govern the country as well as look after the well-being of the Malays and Bumiputeras.
