PETALING JAYA: Selangor exco member Elizabeth Wong has hit back at Selangor Umno liaison chief Noh Omar for challenging Menteri Besar Azmin Ali to lodge a police report over the latter’s claim that Barisan Nasional (BN) was behind the water contamination at Sungai Semenyih.
“This is the pathetic calibre of Umno ministers.
“Instead of mobilising agencies to clean up at the Negeri Sembilan side, he behaves like a kindergartener,” Wong told FMT.
She was referring to Noh’s earlier statement where he laughed off Azmin’s allegation that BN was behind the contamination and challenging the menteri besar to lodge a police report if he had evidence to back up his allegation.
Noh, who is also urban wellbeing, housing and local government minister, said that blaming others was part of the opposition’s culture and that Azmin had run out of excuses.
According to Wong, a police report has already been lodged on the alleged sabotage last night.
She said more details on the sabotage allegations will be released once results from the laboratory tests on the water samples are out.
“The results will not be out immediately because a full spectrum is needed due to unknown compounds detected in the water.
“Let us see if the Department of Environment and the police will act on this clear act of sabotage,” she said.
