PETALING JAYA: Controversial Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik is back in Malaysia.
Star Online reported that the preacher from India attended the annual conference of Al-Khadem in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
It also said the preacher met Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at his home.
Zahid posted a picture of himself and Zakir on Instagram.
Zakir was in Malaysia in April to give talks on Islam.
He gave a number of lectures in Terengganu then.
His talk at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka was earlier banned by police but was later given the green light after the theme of the talk was changed.
Non-Muslim groups had wanted him to be barred from speaking in Malaysia as they said he often demeaned other religions and could cause harm to Malaysia’s multi-religious harmony.
