T’ganu religious dept monitoring employees’ misconduct

Ghazali TaibKUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAT) will not compromise with staff when it comes to disciplinary issues including absenteeism or involvement in fraud at the workplace.

State Communications, Multimedia and Special Duties Committee chairman Ghazali Taib said stern action including termination of employment would be taken against employees who have neglected their duties and responsibilities.

He said JHEAT would look into these problems and take effective measures in an effort to restore the good image of the department.

“Among the forms of misconduct we have noted are poor staff attendance, late attendance at the office and abuse of power.

“As such we appeal to the JHEAT commissioner to take appropriate action against employees who do not comply with the directives and procedures set to change people’s negative perception of the department,” he said after a casual meeting with the media here, today.
