KUALA LUMPUR: PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin must apologise to Prime Minister Najib Razak and Rosmah Mansor for insinuating they had sponsored the helicopter used by Red Shirts chief Jamal Yunos, said Gerakan Merah leader Mohd Ali Baharom.
Mohd Ali, better known as Ali Tinju, today warned the Ampang MP to “watch her mouth” and called her “biadap” (rude) and “kurang ajar” (ill taught) for saying that Najib and his wife Rosmah had sponsored the helicopter ride.
“Zuraida should watch her mouth. Don’t say that Jamal took a helicopter sponsored by the prime minister and Datin Rosmah Mansor.
“You (Zuraida) are rude and you are slandering the good name of the prime minister and Rosmah Mansor,” Ali Tinju told the press today after making a police report against electoral reform NGO Bersih 2.0 and the Red Shirts.
“Najib and Datin Rosmah are not involved with Jamal and the Red Shirts. The prime minister and his wife are thinking of bigger matters and how to develop the nation.”
This follows Zuraida’s recent query in Parliament concerning Jamal’s helicopter ride over a property belonging to Ampang PKR youth chief Adam Rosly.
She had asked how Jamal was given permission to make the trip with several members of the media, saying that the trip had “no purpose” and was made after overnight notice was given.
“What is the procedure to fly a commercial helicopter? What is the application period and do they need to disclose the purpose of the trip and destination?” she asked when speaking to reporters at the Parliament lobby on Tuesday.
Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai had during his ministerial reply said there is a “procedure in place” to allow anyone to fly in a commercial aircraft.
“We do not question them on the purpose of the trip, but rest assured, all trips adhere to safety rules and we ensure they follow the designated routes,” said Liow.
