PETALING JAYA:
Syabas announced that water supply had been restored to almost all areas of the Klang Valley that had been affected by the water cuts since Monday.

In a statement, Syabas said water supply had been restored to all affected areas in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, except for parts of Klang.

“The scheduled water supply to consumers had accelerated the water supply restoration. As at 7am this morning, water supply had been restored in almost all areas,” Syabas said in a statement.

As such the scheduled disruption of water for Zone 2, starting tomorrow, has been cancelled.

The much-criticised interruption followed the partial shutdown of the Sungai Selangor Phase 1, 2 and 3 Water Treatment Plants due to TNB’s maintenance works at the Bukit Badong Main Intake Substation.

On the remaining areas, Syabas said that every effort was being undertaken to expedite recovery in Kg Rantau Panjang and Taman Cempaka Sari in Klang.

“Water supply to these two areas is expected to be fully restored later this evening,” Syabas said.

“The water supply system will be closely monitored to ensure sufficient water supply and optimum water pressure in the main pipelines as well as satisfactory water levels in the service reservoirs.”

Still, as a contingency, Syabas advised consumers that should relief water supply be needed, they could just send an SMS to 15300, with the message (TANKER ).
