KUALA LUMPUR: Police have denied sitting on reports of attempted murder and forgery lodged by a former air force officer.
Former air force man Gopi Supermanian had accused the police of failing to investigate reports he had filed, in a press conference at Menara PGRM here earlier today.
Serdang police chief ACP Megat Mohd Aminuddin Megat Alias said Gopi’s claims were untrue.
“Regarding his first report, we classified the case as assault or criminal intimidation.
“In fact, the case was discussed almost every week at our meetings in Selangor police headquarters.”
He said police had submitted the investigation paper (IP) to the deputy public prosecutor’s office and were awaiting further instructions.
Regarding Gopi’s second report of signature forgery, Megat Aminuddin said as Gopi had not suffered any loss of money, police had advised him to seek the help of the relevant agencies.
“We explained to him that he could go to the respective insurance companies to revoke the insurance policies in his name.”
Gopi had alleged that police failed to take action on reports he had lodged three months ago. He said he felt his life was in danger because the culprits were still at large.
Gerakan Public Service and Complaints Bureau chairman Wilson Lau said he would be writing to police to seek verification on the updates of both cases.
