MAPEX 2017: Not just for those with deep pockets

Malaysia-Property-ExpoKUALA LUMPUR: With property prices across the Klang Valley becoming out of reach for many Malaysians, it might seem that a visit to the Malaysia Property Expo 2017 (MAPEX 2017) would turn out to be nothing but window-shopping.

However, the annual fair features a number of private property developers who are selling units for under RM500,000 each, with some actually located in the Klang Valley.

The event also has booths set up by Rumah Wilayah Persekutuan (RUMAWIP) and Rumah Selangorku, where visitors can get valuable information on affordable housing projects.

RUMAWIP is overseeing 12 affordable housing projects that are open to applicants who currently live or work in Kuala Lumpur.

These projects comprise residences such as apartments in various locations around the city, with prices ranging from RM198,000 to RM 300,000.

Visitors can also get more details on Rumah Selangorku projects in the state, which include apartments, townhouses and terrace houses.

The projects are located in various places like Petaling Jaya, Sepang, Gombak, Klang, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Langat and Hulu Selangor, with prices ranging from RM42,000 to RM250,000.

As for homes built by private developers, most of those priced under RM500,000 are located in areas like Nilai, Bangi and Senawang. They include apartments, single-storey terrace houses and one-and-a-half storey townhouses.

One development which would be of interest to those looking for a home in the Klang Valley is DIVO @ The Zizz in Damansara Damai, which has 3-room serviced apartments being offered from RM337,000 onwards each.

Located along Jalan Kuala Selangor, the apartments are just 350 metres away from the Damansara Damai MRT station which is under construction.

Also close by is the Sg Buloh KTM station, the North-South Highway, MRR2 Highway and Damansara -Puchong Expressway.

The apartment also has five recreational themed pools and a gym with a panoramic view.

It is also close to a few international schools, as well as to the Ikea outlet, the Curve and One Utama.

MAPEX 2017 is organised by the Real Estate Housing and Developers’ Association (Rehda), and is held at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from 10am to 10pm until Sunday,
