Baling crash: Woman driver tests positive for drugs


ALOR SETAR: The 37-year-old woman detained by the police following a road crash which killed Baling Narcotics chief ASP Mohd Noor Mat Yaub and his wife yesterday tested positive for drugs, Baling district police chief Supt Sharifudin Yusof said.

He said the woman, from Baling, who was at the wheel of a Toyota Hilux involved in the accident, would be brought to the Baling Magistrate’s Court today for the police to obtain a remand order.

The woman tested positive for methamphetamine, he said when contacted here today.

At 7.15am yesterday, Mohd Noor and his wife, Suriya Abdul Rahman, 37, were killed in a road accident at Kampung Teluk Teduri, Baling, when the Toyota Passo car they were travelling in with their children was hit from behind by a Toyota Hilux.

The couple’s children survived the crash.
