PETALING JAYA: Another case of animal abuse has emerged, with a man being accused of leaving his dog on the ledge outside his unit on the 27th floor of an apartment block in Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur, The Star reported.
Complaints have been filed with the authorities as well as the Selangor Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), which said it will be taking the matter up with the department of veterinary services (DVS).
“It is understood that the management of the condo issued a warning to the dog owner yesterday but the owner refused to stop,” Selangor SPCA chairman Christine Chin was quoted as saying by the daily.
She added that a complaint was received from a resident in a building facing the apartment unit where the dog had been seen to be repeatedly placed in its dangerous position on the ledge.
The narrow ledge also has no railings, as seen in a photo that has started to go viral on social media.
Chin told The Star that the dog owner should be charged under the Animal Welfare Act for putting the dog’s life at risk.
