PETALING JAYA: First the public overwhelmingly poured scorn on Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) three proposed designs for a common logo for the four-party coalition to face the coming 14th general election (GE14).
Following the derision and sarcasm directed at PH’s “uncreative” logos, the coalition opened the designing to members of the public to submit proposals over five days – and they have responded with enthusiasm.
“Up to 11am today, Pakatan media had received 317 proposed logos from members of the public,” said PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil.
He said the proposed designs came from many sectors of the community.
“It shows clear moral support for us.
“The proposals were from both the young and senior citizens, some even drawn on tissue paper,” he told a media conference at the headquarters of PPBM here.
PH wants to use a common logo to contest in the coming general election and needs to submit its choice to the Registrar of Societies for approval soon.
PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli had posted the three original logo designs on his Facebook page on May 3. All three were criticised and ridiculed by netizens as uncreative, lacking in symbolism and even frivolous.
Fahmi said PH would discuss thoroughly the submitted designs and an announcement would be made on the one chosen in a few days.
