PETALING JAYA: A 19-year-old youth was allegedly sodomised at the rehabilitation boarding school he was attending in Melaka yesterday, just days after another high profile case also said to involve sodomy.
According to The Star Online, the youth was attacked by three of his seniors in the incident which took place at the boys’ dormitory within the school’s premise in Jasin at about 2.30am.
The portal said the three suspects, all believed to be aged 20, had awakened the youth before restraining him and taking turns to sodomise him despite his attempts to break free.
It added that there were 12 other boys in the dormitory who were fast asleep when the alleged assault took place.
It said the warden came over to help him after he began crying when the attack was over, and took him to the police station.
The report quoted Melaka CID chief Senior Asst Comm Kamaluddin Kassim as saying that they then lodged a report at the Jasin police headquarters.
“We detained three of the inmates on the same day the report was lodged,” he was quoted as saying.
Police are investigating the case under Section 377C of the Penal Code for committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent.
A mattress from the dormitory was removed by forensic officials who combed the location of the alleged incident for evidence.
According to The Star, the victim is learnt to be from Selangor and was referred to the school in 2015 for correctional rehabilitation over a drug-related offence.
The incident comes just days after a similar event was said to have occurred in Penang.
On June 9, 18-year-old T Nhaveen was allegedly tortured by six youths who were reportedly his secondary school friends in Gelugor.
He was later declared “brain dead” at the intensive care unit of the Penang Hospital.
He was allegedly hit with crash helmets before being taken to a field at Jalan Kaki Bukit where it is believed blunt objects were inserted into his anus.
According to police, the five youths who were later arrested confessed to assaulting Nhaveen, but denied inserting objects.
Although the case was investigated for rioting under Section 148 of the Penal Code, police said they will recommend it be investigated under Section 377CA for sexual connection with an object without consent, since there is evidence of likely forced entry to his anus.
