KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Najib Razak said stern action would be taken over the death of T Nhaveen, 18, who was brutally assaulted by a group of youths at Jalan Kaki Bukit in Penang last Friday.
The teenager passed away at the Penang Hospital at 6pm today.
Najib said he was saddened by Nhaveen’s death and expressed his condolences to the teenager’s family.
“Saddened to receive news of the passing of T.Nhaveen. Condolences to the family. Justice and stern action will be taken against his assailants,” he said in a post on Twitter today.
Nhaveen and another individual, aged 19, were believed to have been hit with crash helmets, as well as punched and kicked by a group of youths before the 19-year-old victim managed to flee and informed his uncle of the incident.
