KUALA TERENGGANU: Police detained a staff of the Terengganu Forestry Department here for posting offensive remarks following his disgruntlement towards a policeman who had issued a traffic summons to him.

Kuala Terengganu police chief Supt Suffian Sulaiman said the 26-year-old man posted the remarks on Friday after being booked for using a vehicle registration number that did not adhere to specifications.

“Around 9.19pm the same day, we received a Facebook snapshot of the abusive posting that was sent via the WhatsApp application.

“The suspect was then arrested around 12.40am by the roadside in Taman Shahbandar,” he told Bernama here today.

Suffian also urged the public to report cases of officers or policemen, believed to be involved in misconduct or bribery, through the correct channels and not via the social media.
