Fuel prices up for second week in a row

PETALING JAYA: Fuel prices will go up from midnight, with a 4-sen increase per litre for RON95 and a 3-sen increase for RON97.

The price of RON95 petrol will increase to RM1.97 from RM1.93, while the price of RON97 will go up to RM2.22 from RM2.19 previously.

The price of diesel meanwhile will go up by 5 sen to RM1.96 from RM1.91 previously.

This is the second consecutive week that petrol prices have gone up.

The new prices will be in effect from July 13 until July 19.

This was announced on the domestic trade, cooperatives and consumerism ministry’s Twitter account and website on Wednesday evening.

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism came into effect on March 29 this year. Prices of petrol and diesel had been placed on a managed monthly float system since Dec 1, 2014, following the removal of fuel subsidies.
