Missing tahfiz student returns home

KUALA LUMPUR: A tahfiz student who was reported missing yesterday has returned to his family home in Taman Keramat AU1 here today.

Nor Laily Zakaria, 37, the mother of Aqmal Khaleq Firman Hasani, 11, said she was surprised when the eldest of four siblings showed up at their doorstep at about 5.30pm.

“I was just about to go out and search for him (Aqmal Khaleq) and when I opened the door, he was there, before my eyes. Alhamdulillah (Thank God), I am grateful that my son is safely back with us,” she said when contacted by Bernama here today.

She said Aqmal Khaleq looked tired but had yet to tell the family where he had gone when he went missing.

“When I asked him where he came from, he merely said he walked home from AEON AU2,” she added.

Aqmal Khaleq’s teacher reported him missing from class at a tahfiz (religious) centre, located about 200 metres from home about 2pm yesterday.

The boy’s family lodged a report at the Jalan Tun Razak police station near Setiawangsa shortly after.
