4 suspects held for molotov cocktail attack on police HQ

PETALING JAYA: Police have detained four suspects believed to be involved in throwing a Molotov cocktail at the district police headquarters in Sungai Petani, The Star Online reported.

State CID chief SAC Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the four men were aged between 25 and 41.

They were arrested at three locations during an operation early today in Taman Ria Jaya, Jalan Bakar Sampah and Bandar Mutiara in Sungai Petani.

One of the suspects, aged 30, has seven previous convictions for gambling, causing hurt and causing mischief.

They have been remanded for four days for investigations.

A Molotov cocktail was thrown at the police headquarters at 4am yesterday by two men on a motorcycle. It smashed harmlessly on the road in front of the headquarters, leaving a black scorch mark.

This is believed to be a warning to police over recent arrests of Gang 04 members in Bedong, near Sungai Petani, on Wednesday.
