PETALING JAYA: Police have reclassified the case of a dead policeman and a Vietnamese woman as suicide and not murder or sudden death.

According to a report in The Star Online, Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Amar Singh, said yesterday, “We can confirm after the post-mortem and testing gunshot residue results on the hands of the couple that their deaths were suicide.”
The woman is believed to be a Vietnamese in her 20s while the 25-year-old police officer is attached to Bukit Aman’s special integrated investigation team, Berita Harian Online said. He is believed to be from Mersing, Johor.
Meanwhile The Star Online said a relative of the policeman, when met at the mortuary of Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia yesterday said the couple began seeing each other months ago and had moved into the Cheras flat only recently.
According to media reports, the two had gunshot wounds and the woman was holding a gun issued by the government to the police force.
