KUALA LUMPUR: A cook was fined RM1,000, in default a month’s jail, for taking pictures and a video of a woman’s leg.
Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid meted out the fine on Chow Chee Yeep, 31, who pleaded guilty to the charge.
He was charged with insulting the modesty of a 36-year-old sales promoter by taking the pictures and video without the woman’s knowledge at a food court at Level 1, Pavilion, at 2.05pm on June 13 last year.
The charge, under Section 509 of the Penal Code, provides imprisonment for up to five years, or fine, or both, upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Noorelynna Hanim Abd Hanim prosecuted, while Chow was unrepresented.
