KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a six-month-old baby boy was found inside a box left on the roadside along Jalan Kovil Hilir, Sentul, here, this morning.
Sentul police chief ACP R Munusamy said the baby was believed to have died two days ago.
“The baby’s body was discovered by a female cleaner before the remains were handed over to the police.
“The body had bruises and cuts while his face seemed to be half-scalded, and we believe the baby had been physically abused,” he told a press conference at the Sentul police headquarters here.
Munusamy said the body had been handed over to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) Forensic Department for a post-mortem and the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
“I am asking the public with information on this case to come forward to the nearest police station or to contact investigating officer ASP Tan Loon Chuan at 019-9993377,” he said.
