KUALA LUMPUR: Intimate parts of the human body may have quietly grabbed the attention of people attending a symposium named after Dr Siti Hasmah Ali, the wife of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
In goodie bags distributed to participants, advertising leaflets offered beauty treatment for places best left to the imagination.
“RM100 voucher for Laser Vaginal Tightening Treatment,” said one leaflet.
And even though it was a symposium dedicated to women, the men were not left out.
“Kembalikan kelakian dengan Mr P soap” (Bring back your manliness with Mr P soap),” screamed another sheet of paper.
The symposium, with the theme “Wanita Pencorak Masa Depan Negara” (Women as Shapers of the Nation’s Future), discusses the role of women in the country’s future. Topics include life-long learning, women’s role in the economy, and women’s health and beauty.
A representative for the organiser told FMT that the contents of the goodie bags were courtesy of the speakers.
“There are a few speakers here today. They all contributed these vouchers and items in the goodie bags,” she said.
