PETALING JAYA: Two youths from India have been murdered in Malaysia, according to Indian newspaper The Tribune.

It identified one of the victims as Vikas, from Taragarh, and the other as Gurmeet, from Punjab.

They were reportedly killed on Dec 2.

The newspaper said Vikas had left India in January for Malaysia but no details were given on Gurmeet.

Vikas’ family members were quoted as saying that he and Gurmeet were attacked by unidentified youths at the gates of the factory where they worked. Both died at the scene.

The next day, Vikas’ family members received information that he had been involved in a confrontation, and later found out about his death through an unspecified source in Malaysia.

Although Vikas’ family had not received any information through official channels, they were attempting to find out as much as they could about the murder.

They had contacted the High Commission of Malaysia in New Delhi and Indian MP Dushyant Chautala to assist in this matter.
