PETALING JAYA: Two groups of eight motorcyclists clashed in front of a church in SEA Park here after midnight last night, The Star reported.
They threw fire crackers at each other.
As a result, one fell at the side of the road while another fell near the church’s entrance, Petaling Jaya district police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said.
The report did not indicate if the motorcyclists were injured.
The incident happened about 12.45am as church-goers were leaving after a New Year service.
A married couple and another man, from Zimbabwe, were injured by the crackers, the daily said.
“We also learnt that the motorcyclists were chased away by two other men.
“The incident has nothing to do with religious tension.
“We are in the midst of collecting CCTV footage at the road near the church,” Zani said.
He urged anyone with information on the spat between the two groups of Mat Rempit to contact police.
