Naked man on motorcycle sent to hospital for treatment

PETALING JAYA: Police have confirmed that the man who was recorded riding a motorcycle naked in Teluk Intan yesterday has been sent to the hospital for treatment by his family.

“The local man, who is in his mid 30s, has a history of mental illness,” Hilir Perak district police chief ACP Mohd Marzukhi Mohd Mokhtar said in a statement today.

Marzukhi said police managed to track down the man following investigations after at least three video clips of the man in the buff riding a motorcycle in Teluk Intan circulated in social media, reported the Malay Mail Online.

In one of the clips, the man is seen having calmly stopped his motorbike at a busy traffic-light junction beside other waiting vehicles.

In another clip, he is seen casually veering from one road to another and weaving past cars in town, and the third clip shows him riding straight along a road with few other vehicles obstructing his way.

In all the videos, he appeared to be either oblivious or indifferent to the attention he was getting.

Marzukhi said police were investigating the case under Section 14 of the Small Offences Act 1955.
