SHAH ALAM: PKR vice-president Tian Chua today said Pakatan Harapan’s seat negotiations are still on-going and PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali is not part of the discussion.
This comes three days after Azmin, who is also the Selangor menteri besar, said PH had finalised some 80% of seats in the state, sparking a spat with an Amanah leader who denied attending any meeting on allocation of seats between the four parties in the coalition.
“We will know the results once we reach a consensus,” Tian Chua said today when met at the High Court.
On Friday, Azmin said there were four meetings on Selangor seats, and 80% of the seats were decided.
Amanah and DAP however said they were not aware of such meetings, and questioned Azmin’s claim.
This was followed by PKR leaders attacking Amanah, forcing PH chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Amanah president Mohamad Sabu asking them to take their quarrel behind closed doors.
It is understood that the talks on Selangor seats should have ended early February, but this was denied by Azmin.
Tian Chua said the seat negotiations in Selangor had yet to involve national and senior PH leaders, including Azmin.
“He is not involved for now. So too our PH chairman Tun (Mahathir), PPBM president Muhyiddin Yassin and me as a PKR negotiator,” he said.
He said Mahathir would only intervene in the event negotiations reach a stalemate.
Tian Chua also denied that PKR leaders had met Mahathir to resolve dispute over seats.
