Chong Wei: That’s not me in sex video

Lee-Chong-WeiPETALING JAYA: National badminton player Lee Chong Wei has denied allegations that he is the person in a viral sex video with an unknown woman.

The three-time Olympic silver medallist said the speculation could have been started by certain quarters who want to see him fail.

He was reported by the New Straits Times as saying that it could especially be related to the release of his biopic movie, titled “Lee Chong Wei: Rise of the Legend”, which is scheduled to have its premier screening next month.

He added that having watched the clip, and seeing that the allegations were getting out of hand, he would lodge a police report on the matter today.

“This is ridiculous. Take one look at the video and you know it’s not me,” he was quoted as saying.

“So many people have been calling to confirm if it was me, and I had to laugh it off.

“Initially, I had no plans of acting on it, because really it’s just a waste of time.

“However, it is getting out of hand, and I will be lodging a police report at Bukit Aman (police headquarters) today,” he added.

Lee also said that he was so used to being the subject of such accusations that they sometimes did not seem amusing to him.

“There will always be people who are not happy with your success, and this is how they try to bring you down.

“I am not bothered, but sometimes it does get to you,” he said.
