KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi yesterday urged Selangor BN to set aside trivial issues and for component party leaders to close ranks to wrest back the state in the coming election.
“We also have to ensure that we give the best to the people,” Zahid, who is also the deputy prime minister, said at a function last night.
He said if these things were done, BN would return to rule Selangor after losing control of the state to the opposition for the past two terms.
He added that BN component parties in the state must work together as a team in the 14th general election (GE14).
Zahid said BN had a good chance of wresting back seats it lost to the opposition in the last general election, as well as winning more votes in the seats it controlled.
