Cancer patient dies on flight to Kuching

KUCHING: A Malindo Air passenger died during a flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Kuching this morning.

Kuching deputy police chief Supt Abang Junaidi Abang Anuar said the victim, Wong Ho Huah, 46, of Sri Aman, was a leukaemia patient.

Wong was confirmed dead at 11.10am by the flight supervisor.

Abang Junaidi said Wong was accompanied by his brother on the Malindo OD 1606 flight.

“At 12.03pm, just as the aircraft was landing at Kuching International Airport (KIA), police received a report on the incident.

“Initial investigations found that the victim had died of leukaemia which he had been suffering from for more than two years.

“The incident was classified as sudden death,” he said in a statement here today.

He said the body of the victim was taken to the Sarawak Hospital for a post-mortem.
