SANDAKAN: Betrayal should not be part of politics, says Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman, in an apparent reference to former Sabah Umno leaders who have now turned against the party.
The Sabah Umno chief said he had been taught not to sabotage friends, including by the late Mustapha Harun, the first governor of Sabah.
“Most importantly, Islam also teaches us to be sincere in our struggle and to be fair in all our actions towards all races,” he said at an event in Libaran here today attended by the fishermen community.
Musa said Sabahans should reject leaders who fight for their own interests.
At the function today, Musa announced a RM2 million contribution under the 1Malaysia People’s Aid Programme (BR1M) to the Sandakan fishing association members, and RM650,000 for 15 fishing associations in the state.
