Azmin Ali to defend his seats, Maria to stand in PJ

PKR has announced its candidates for nine parliamentary seats and 21 state seats so far.

KUALA SELANGOR: Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali, who is also PKR deputy president, will be defending his Gombak parliamentary seat and Bukit Antarabangsa state seat in the May 9 polls (GE14).

PKR’s list of candidates for GE14 was announced by party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail here last night.

So far, PKR has announced its candidates for nine parliamentary seats and 21 state seats.

Among them are former Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chin Abdullah, who will contest the Petaling Jaya parliamentary seat (formerly Petaling Jaya Selatan), and former Selangor executive councillor Xavier Jayakumar, who will be contesting the Kuala Langat parliamentary seat.

Candidates for state seats include Idris Ahmad (Ijok), Rodziah Ismail (Batu Tiga) and Daroyah Alwi (Sementa).

The party will field a new face, G Sivamalar, for the Bukit Melawati state seat.
