PAS’ Norsah sees divine sign of victory

Norsah (centre) is confident things will turn out well for PAS in Batu Sapi.

KOTA KINABALU: PAS election candidate Norsah Bongsu believes that her party has divine sanction in its decision to contest in Batu Sapi and the two state constituencies that come under it.

She told FMT that PAS was given Registration Number 01 for the Sekong contest, another 01 for Karamunting and 04 for the Batu Sapi parliamentary contest.

She pointed out that 114 is the number of chapters in the Quran.

“This is a sign from God that we are on the right path to winning in Batu Sapi,” she said.

Norsah is PAS’ candidate for both Batu Sapi and Karamunting and the party’s sole woman contestant in Sabah.

She said many people, including professionals, businessmen and scholars, had sent her messages saying they were praying for PAS’ victory.

This is the first time in its history that PAS is contesting in Batu Sapi as well as the state constituencies within it.

The party’s candidate for Sekong is Sahar Abdul Majid. He will be one of six candidates for the seat. Karamunting will see a four-cornered fight.

There will also be a four-way contest for Batu Sapi. PAS will face incumbent Linda Tsen of Barisan Nasional; former Sabah Liberal Democratic Party chairman VK Liew, who is standing for Warisan; and Pakatan Harapan’s Hamzah Abdullah, who leads the Sabah chapter of Amanah.

Tsen, a member of PBS, has held the seat for two terms.

Observers have noted that the entry of Liew and Hamzah in the race was against an agreement between Warisan and Pakatan.
