Nga wants heads to roll at Perak Corporation

Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming donated RM16,000 to the federal government to help pay off the national debt. Kepayang assemblyman Ko Chung Sen donated RM10,000 while Ipoh Timur MP Wong Kah Woh and Batu Gajah MP V. Sivakumar contributed RM8,000 each.

IPOH: Perak DAP has urged all board members of the Perak Corporation Berhad (PCB) to resign immediately following their weak management performance and the huge losses incurred by the state government-owned company.

State DAP leader Nga Kor Ming said the company, a subsidiary of the Perak State Development Corporation, could also go bankrupt due to an increase in the company’s debts caused by the Movie Animation Park Studios project in Meru Raya.

He said the PCB board members were political appointees and “are incapable of managing this Perak Government-owned company. They have to resign immediately,” he told reporters today.

A news report earlier this week stated that the PCB had incurred a net loss of RM340.6 milion during its last financial year and the group’s current liabilities exceeded its current assets by RM158.5 million.

Nga urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to carry out investigations.

He said the previous Barisan Nasional-ruled government should not have built the movie studio theme park but instead should have focused on looking after the wellbeing of the people.

He left it up to Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu to decide whether to close the studios.

Nga, who is Teluk Intan MP, announced a donation of RM16,000 to the federal government to help reduce the country’s national debt. Also contributing were Kepayang assemblyman Dr Ko Chung Sen who donated RM10,000 as well as Ipoh Timur MP, Wong Kah Woh and Batu Gajah MP, V. Sivakumar who contributed RM8,000 each.
