PUTRAJAYA: Riza Aziz, the stepson of former prime minister Najib Razak, arrived for his third day of questioning at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters here today.
Riza arrived at 11.10am accompanied by lawyer K Kumaraendran.
He was first called in for questioning by the anti-graft body on Tuesday, the first time he had appeared in public in Malaysia after being named in a 2016 civil suit by the US Department of Justice in connection with investigations into 1MDB.
The Hollywood producer, who was called in to record his statement, was grilled for nine hours on Tuesday and another six yesterday.
MACC’s questioning of Riza came almost a month after his mother, Rosmah Mansor, and Najib were questioned by the anti-graft body.
Members of the media were asked to wait outside the MACC gates today, unlike the past two days when they were allowed to wait inside the premises.
According to security personnel, they are not allowed in today as MACC is holding an Aidilfitri open house.
