Solar panels probe: Remand of Najib’s former aide extended 2 days
The 44-year-old man was detained on Monday after giving his statement at the MACC HQ.
PUTRAJAYA: The Magistrate’s Court today extended the remand of a former special officer to Najib Razak by two days to facilitate investigations into alleged corruption in the installation of solar power panels in Sarawak schools.
Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim allowed the extension sought by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The 44-year-old man, who has a “Datuk” title, has been on remand since Tuesday. He was detained on Monday after being summoned to the MACC headquarters to give a statement.
The man, dressed in the orange MACC lock-up attire, was brought to the court at 10.50am and taken away at 12.15pm after the proceedings ended.
His lawyer, Ridha Abdah Subri, was also present in court.

MACC earlier detained three individuals, including a company director, to assist in the investigation.
