KUALA LUMPUR: Kelantan Pakatan Harapan (PH) chief Husam Musa was sworn in as a Dewan Negara senator today.
The Amanah vice-president was initially scheduled to be sworn in as a senator on Aug 27 along with 12 others from PH and Parti Warisan Sabah, but this was deferred to a later date.
Husam was previously state assemblyman for the Salor constituency in Kelantan and Kubang Kerian MP from 1999 to 2004.
In 2013, he contested against Barisan Nasional’s Tengku Adnan Mansor for the parliamentary seat in Putrajaya but lost.
In the May 9 general election, the 59-year-old contested the Kota Bharu parliamentary seat and the Salor state seat but lost to PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.
