GEORGE TOWN: The Moscow Circus, currently on an eight-month tour of Malaysia, is aiming to collect RM1 million to be donated to Putrajaya’s national debt repayment fund, Tabung Harapan.

The Moscow Circus Tour of Malaysia producer Kenneth Lee, whose father was the creator of the Royal London Circus, said his objective was to express his love for the country by using the circus as a platform to raise funds to support the nation.

“So far, we have achieved 10% of the goal solely from the ticket sales in Putrajaya, where the Moscow Circus performers made their debut performance in Malaysia this year,” he told a press conference in Komtar today.

On another note, The Moscow Circus show will be held at Queensbay Mall in Penang from Sept 13 to 30, and Auto City in Perai from Oct 6 to 21.

A total of 40 world-class circus performers will perform under a large air-conditioned Big Top which has a capacity of 2,700 spectators.

The circus will also hit Petaling Jaya, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat, Ipoh, Kuantan and Klang.
