PETALING JAYA: Putrajaya today announced former Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) director-general Hasmah Abdullah as the chairperson of the Tax Reform Committee (TRC).

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said Hasmah, who has 37 years’ experience in tax administration, will be joined by tax and finance experts, namely Verinderjeet Singh, Chua Tia Guan and Amardeep Singh.

TRC was announced last month to evaluate the taxation system and to propose ways to make it more efficient, as well as to minimise tax leakage and evasion.
