Rosmah arrives at court, to face 17 charges

Rosmah Mansor arrives at the court complex in Kuala Lumpur.

KUALA LUMPUR: Rosmah Mansor has arrived at the court complex here where she is expected to face 17 money laundering charges involving more than RM14 million.

Rosmah, wearing an orange baju kurung and a matching selendang, arrived at the court premises at 8.27am under heavy police escort.

She will be brought before Sessions Court judge Azura Alwi.

Supporters and curious onlookers had gathered outside the court since 6.45am to support Rosmah and her husband, former prime minister Najib Razak.

Najib is at the High Court to attend the mention of his criminal breach of trust case under Section 409 of the Penal Code in connection with the transfer of RM42 million to his private bank account from former 1MDB subsidiary SRC International.

He is facing three separate charges.

Rosmah, 66, was arrested yesterday at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters after investigators questioned her over her alleged role in the 1MDB scandal.

She was first called in on June 5 to assist in the probe into SRC International.

Last week, she was called in by the anti-graft body and questioned for nearly 13 hours over her alleged role in the 1MDB scandal.
