KOTA KINABALU: Warisan deputy president Darell Leiking today declined to comment on rumours that Labuan MP Rozman Isli is set to quit Umno and join his party.
When contacted, the Penampang MP told FMT he would be visiting the offshore financial island tomorrow and to wait for the announcement.
“I hope so,” he said on Rozman joining Warisan. “If it happens, it happens. You will know tomorrow.”
It had been reported that Rozman would announce his decision to link up with Warisan tomorrow, to coincide with Leiking’s visit to his constituency.
There is also speculation that the Labuan Umno division chief will present his application to Leiking at the same time.
Rozman, who was reportedly considering ditching Umno after the May 9 polls, has been non-committal about the latest rumour.
He told The Star he would release a statement tomorrow, adding that he was preparing a long note, longer than that of Mustapa Mohamed when the Jeli MP resigned from Umno.
Mustapa and Kimanis MP Anifah Aman exited Umno last month but have yet to join any party, saying they prefer to remain as independents for now.
