KUALA LUMPUR: The second post-mortem process on former Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Nazrin Hassan has yet to be completed, said Selangor Criminal Investigation Department head Fadzil Ahmat.
He said the police were still waiting for the pathologists to complete the post-mortem before the remains could be reburied at the Muslim Cemetery in Section 9, Kota Damansara, near here.
“The post-mortem process has been extended. So, we’ll wait until the pathologists have completed their post-mortem to bury (back) the remains,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Fadzil said he could not say how long the process would take.
Last Tuesday, Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun was reported to have said that Nazrin’s remains would be reburied on Friday after completion of the second post-mortem, which is being carried out at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.
Nazrin’s remains were exhumed on Monday after police obtained an order from the Magistrate’s Court to carry out a second post-mortem to facilitate investigation into his death.
Nazrin, 45, died in a fire that broke out at his two-storey house in Mutiara Damansara on June 14.
Police reclassified Nazrin’s death as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code on Aug 3, following a forensic investigation report by the Fire and Rescue Department, which cited possible foul play.
