PETALING JAYA: The showdown in PKR between Mohamed Azmin Ali and Rafizi Ramli for the number two post continues in Selangor, with Azmin taking the lead in six of the nine divisions which voted today to choose top party leaders.

PKR’s Wong Chen, who is aligned to Rafizi, said the results were “okay” as Selangor was Azmin’s stronghold.

Another 13 divisions in the state will vote in the coming weeks.

Today, Azmin got 9,337 votes compared to Rafizi’s 8,563 votes.

Both leaders have been locked in a close battle for the deputy president’s post.

Rafizi’s own estimates said he got 19,160 votes against Azmin’s 19,112 votes, winning four of the six states which went to polls so far.

PKR election committee chairman Rashid Din has said that the results cited by candidates were not official and would have to be audited by the party.
