Saleem Iklim was readmitted to hospital after his condition worsened.

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer AM Salim Abdul Majeed, or better known as Saleem Iklim, died at 6am today while receiving treatment at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre, here.

He was 57.

The death of the vocalist of Iklim, the rock band famous in the 1990s, was confirmed by his daughter, Iera Fakhira, to Bernama.

“The remains will be taken to Surau As-Syakirin in Bukit Mahkota, Cheras, for funeral prayers before being laid to rest at the nearby Muslim cemetery after the Zohor prayer,” she said.

Saleem, most popular for the song titled ‘Suci Dalam Debu’, was admitted to the medical centre following an accident on Sept 20. He had suffered injuries to the ribs.

“My father was discharged from the hospital before this but was readmitted when his condition worsened,” Iera Fakhira said.
